Martha has been performing and directing professionally for over 30 years.  She has worked in the Nashville area and regionally including Nashville Repertory Theatre, Nashville Opera, Nashville Children’s Theatre, Studio Tenn, Shreveport Opera, Springer Opera House, Tibbitt’s Summer Theatre and American Stage Company. Having appeared in more than 100 shows, Martha’s favorite roles include: Beauty and the Beast (Mrs. Potts), The Little Mermaid (Ursula), Company (Joann), Cabaret ( Fritzy/ Fraulein Kost), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett), Rosie in Mamma Mia and Noises Off ( Dotty/ Mrs. Clackett).
Martha theatre at the Alliance Theatre, Berry College, and North Carolina School of the Arts. She is a nine-time First Night Award winner for Outstanding Performance in Musical Theatre. She was selected as Best Actor by The Tennessean and Nashville Scene for her portrayal of “Mrs. Lovett” in Sweeney Todd and was a recipient of The First Night Theatre Honors as one of the individuals who have taken leading roles in making live theater in Tennessee better and more magical.
In 2019, Martha and her husband, Donnie Hall, moved to East Tennessee and have established Three Rivers Theatre Company, a community theatre, in Harriman.
